Fairview Modern Update

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA

Inspired by light-filled west coast modern living, This 1200 sq. ft townhouse’s unique angular floor plan is balanced out by the warmth of natural walnut on the two-tone cabinets. Our objective was to maximize the abundance of natural light and create an open layout to suit the client’s lifestyle.

A wall separated an enclosed light-filled dining room from the kitchen. Removing this wall allowed us to create and open layout that maximized work flow and storage, while flooding the space with natural light. With meticulous planning, we were able to incorporate all the clients wants and needs, such as multiple work surfaces, specific appliance commitments and a small bar area.

Our design featured several panel ready appliances, with which we maximized use of space, created strong linear lines and achieved a streamlined look that defines this timeless kitchen. Replacing the wall between the hallway and stairs with full-height glazing, adds to the spaciousness of the space while enabling sunlight to flow more organically.

Light reflects off the crisp white countertops and high gloss upper cabinets and is a striking contrast to the warmth of the walnut lower cabinets, matte black hardware and plumbing fixtures. This modern west coast kitchen is a perfect balance of practical elements and stunning detail.
