Our Process

We've had years of experience to perfect our process. Based on a mid-sized renovation or new build, you can expect the following steps to take you through the process of how we will build your Interior Design Package.

INITIAL MEETING

We’ll meet to discuss your ideas and to learn more about your style, budget, and timeline.

LAYOUT + PLANNING

We will lay out your new build or renovation project, creating a space plan to accommodate your ideas, wants and needs. If you have an architect, we can work with them. If you’re not sure if you need an architect, let us know. We’re up to date on BC building code and jurisdictions and can help you decide.

We can also create official permit drawings for any size of renovation, addition or new construction that does not require an architect.

MOODBOARD DEVELOPMENT

We will build and deliver a tailor-made image package, following up with a call to review the creative direction. Your feedback here is really important, as this package and feedback session helps us create the overall aesthetic and functionality of your home, making sure it best represents you.

DESIGN MEETING 1 OF 4: MATERIALS AND SPECS

We’ll begin to look at materials for your project; including tile, hardwood, countertops, millwork finishes, etc. We’ll also begin to discuss preferences on plumbing & light fixtures styles and functions.

DESIGN MEETING 2 OF 4: ELEVATIONS, MATERIALS, FIXTURES.

We will present a fully developed package of materials and begin creating drawings in elevation and 3D. We will help you select light fixtures and plumbing fixtures to be used throughout your project.

DESIGN MEETING 3 OF 4: DELIVERY OF A FULL DESIGN PACKAGE.

At this meeting you will be presented with a fully developed design package!

THIS INCLUDES:

All materials that will appear as part of the home
All drawings for all areas (elevations and applicable 3D renderings)
All fixture specifications. (Plumbing, lighting, appliances, etc).

You can expect an issued for pricing package of drawings and specifications to be given to the contractor after this meeting. This helps you fully understand where you are in your budget against the products you’ve selected with us.

We are very cautious to keep things on time and on budget for a smooth construction process.

DESIGN MEETING 4 OF 4: SIGN-OFF

This will be our final sign-off meeting. All drawings and specs will be reviewed again, along with any changes from the previous meeting. You’ll be asked to sign off on the drawings and specifications in order to move forward with an issued-for-construction package.

DURING CONSTRUCTION…

We will be available for on-site meetings at crucial timelines during construction to make sure everything is getting installed correctly and is working out as planned.

FURNITURE & DECOR

As an additional service, we offer full-service interior decorating. From custom framed artwork of family possessions, art hanging, furniture selection and purchasing, right down to which dishes we’d recommend to compliment your new kitchen.
