Mount Royal Residence
Our Mount Royal renovation involved the demolition of a wall that separated the kitchen and living room spaces. Removing the wall maximized the abundance of natural light, enabling us to create an open layout that enhanced storage space and workflow.
To deal with space limitations we extended a built-in bench off the outer edge of the kitchen island allowing us the floor area to fit a six-person dining table. The kitchen really is the heart of the home at our Mount Royal residence.

Madeleine took the time to listen to what we didn't like, what didn't work and what we wished we had. She also knew a lot about the construction, which was helpful to ensure that what we liked on paper was actually doable. She had clever recommendations that can only come from experience. She was able to interpret our style and function so that very little back and forth was needed on the drawings or the spec sheet. She made this seemingly daunting project a very simple and efficient process and worked well with our contractor.
We really enjoyed working with Madeleine and we love our new space!
